Leisure Suit Larry Returns in HD and he’s mobile!!

Larry Laffer will return in HD and even a mobile format thanks to Replay Games. The Leisure Suit Larry Series was easily one of my favorites on a PC back in the day. Larry was brought back to life in 2003 for a couple new adventures without the help of the original creator Al Lowe. Now once again Larry and the entire series will return with new life. Replay Games obtained the rights to the franchise and plans to re-release the originals in HD and also create new ones. They have also agreed to team up with the original creator Al Lowe, which should make for an added classic Larry touch.
According to EGM “The first project under the agreement will be an HD re-mastered version of the original, Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards, on every platform Replay can figure out how to port it onto, including: Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, XBLA, PSN, On-Live, Steam.”
Needless to say I’m very excited about this and will be first in line to grab the first release. –Greg

Samsung Galaxy S to hit AT&T

Samsung Galaxy SSamsung’s newest bad boy the “Galaxy S” has recently been said to be hitting all 4 major carriers. According to an article by the Android Guys, Broadpoint.AmTech analyst Mark McKechnie says it will be heading to T-Mobile, AT&T, and Sprint by the end of June with Verizon slated as “sometime later this year”. BGR reports the following specs for the Galaxy S:

The Galaxy S sports the features that grace other cutting edge Android handsets including a gorgeous four inch AMOLED display with 800 x 480 resolution, 1GHz processor, 5 megapixel rear-facing camera with support for 720p HD video recording at 30fps, front-facing VGA camera, Swype keyboard, HSDPA connectivity, GPS, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, WiFi, microSD expansion (16GB included, up to 32GB supported), and Android 2.1. To set it apart from its competition, the Galaxy S includes bundled software for the “Smart Life’ which adds an on-device Social networking hub, advanced location-based services, the Layar Reality Browser, and HD video playback.

Nuff said? Yeah, there is no doubt this is one bad Android phone and seeing as it will be hitting AT&T about the same time that Dell’s two Android phones will, I might actually have a choice. Ok, not really I’m thinking this Galaxy is my now 1st choice over Sony’s Xperia X10. One of the options that BGR doesn’t mention in the above is the camera will have panoramic support, how is cool is that?! More about the Samsung Galaxy S and the full press release is over here.

DirectTV launching a 3D Channel

So it looks like DirectTV launched a new satellite which will support the new 3D ability. The new HD channel along with a compatible HDTV will give consumers the same 3D you get from the theaters. I love the idea of having 3D movies in my home, however I’m still not excited about having to wear the glasses when I want to watch a movie in 3D. Maybe they could come up with some electronic visual implant that will turn on automatically during a 3D movie then back off when its over or during a bathroom break. -Greg
