Tigerade – Creator gets charged with Felony!

Bottle bootlegger, Jason Kay found himself with a felony charge and 2 misdemeanors after creating his own version of a Gatorade label. His label pictured to the left included a picture of Tiger Woods and read “unfaithful”. I think it’s hilarious and Tiger deserves the joke, however Gatorade doesn’t seem to agree. If convicted he could face up to 5 years in a federal prison. The charges “of introducing adulterated or misbranded food into interstate commerce, mutilating or destructing a food label, and tainting a consumer product with the intention of causing serious injury to a business” seem a little over the top. I don’t think that Jason is going to single handed bring down Gatorade. -Greg

Android App helps locate itself in the hands of thiefs!!

The Android application ‘Lookout‘ is an app that will protect you from viruses, backup your content, and even will do a remote locate and wipe in case its lost or stolen. Well a guy in Oregon got his Motorola Droid stolen right out of his house while sleeping. He contacted the police when he woke and found laptop, keys, tickets, and his phone stolen. He decided to get on the website for Lookout and check on his backed up data, when he noticed some pictures that he hadn’t taken. The pictures were of the thief who had stolen his phone. Investigators received a tip from a nearby high school, went to their home and found the suspected thief’s with the victims phone. People complain sometimes that technology is a pain, well I think only the thief will agree in this case. -Greg

Android is officially coming to AT&T!

AT&T has officially announced that it will be bringing Android smart phones to it’s network. They have a splash page at www.att.com/androidthat tells a little bit about what they have planned. The officially announced the Dell Mini3 and the Motorola (Backflip) which we had heard rumors about for quite a while. They have also announced 3 Android smart phones coming from HTC, which is 1 of the leaders in Android devices. In the press release they also said they are releasing a new AT&T SDK to help developers more easily and quickly develope apps for these devices. They also go on to say that they are “Taking the AT&T Developer Program to the Next Level”, by adding some new developer resources. I’d have to say AT&T has stepped up and it looks like they are going to knock this out of the park. They already have the “Fastest 3G Network” and this was even proved real world by Gizmodo. Now, with the addition of Android they will continue to be the leader in wireless mobile technology. I’m happy to say that I’m still with AT&T and will now not likely be leaving them anytime soon. Good show AT&T, good show! -Greg
